Meizu’s M3X is not quite a flagship model, although it is a great phone. However, it appears that its successor will spawn in 2018 as a high-end flagship. Meizu’s senior VP, Li Nan, in a Q&A with fans let out some interesting snippets of info regarding the M3X successor.
He said that the next Meizu M3X will be a flagship-level phone with vastly improved specs in it. Moreover, he also revealed that the next M3X will cost 2,499 Yuan or $380. Even at this price, the handset, if it comes with flagship specs will be a bargain. The likes which we have not seen even from OnePlus. Currently, the Meizu M3X costs 1,699 Yuan, which is 800 Yuan less than the upcoming successor.
We’re also expecting Meizu to shift focus towards Qualcomm CPUs next year as MediaTek is moving away from high-end processors at least for the time being. Moreover, Qualcomm’s pending patent issues with Meizu have also been resolved now. So, the evidence is strongly in favour of a Qualcomm flagship CPU next year in the Meizu M3X.
Apart from the Meizu M3X, Meizu will also be celebrating its 15th anniversary with the Meizu 15. This will also be another all-out flagship phone from the company aside from the Meizu Pro 8. With new flagship products, it looks like Meizu wants to break into the Chinese premium market next year with even killer prices.
