Meizu A5

Meizu has launched a new smartphone, the Charm Blue 5. It is aimed at the budget market and costs ¥699 (i.e $105). It is available in black, silver and gold colour options.

As for specs, the Meizu Charm Blue A5 sports a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720. It is powered by the Mediatek MT6737 SoC which is quad-core CPU clocked in at 1.3 GHz. It is coupled with the ARM Mali-T720 GPU. The phone comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Backing all this is a 3,060mAh battery.

As for optics, the phone comes with a single 8MP sensor at the back with a LED flash module. Upfront, we have a 5MP camera for clicking selfies. This is one area where Meizu has done a lot of cost cutting. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, 4G VOLTE etc.

There has been a lot of speculation regarding the Meizu Pro 7 in the past week. Leaked images have shown that Pro 7 would come with a secondary display at the rear of the phone. However, the purpose of the secondary display is not known. Though the idea seems wierd, it might happen as Meizu had already patented the idea.
