Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 2 smartphone is going to launch on the 11th of September according to latest leaks. In accordance with that timeline, we have seen a bunch of leaks crop up featuring the front and back panel. Today though the smartphone got a bunch of leaks courtesy Chinese microblogging site, Weibo.
The first was a post by Qualcomm China’s official account that confirmed the handset would come with the Snapdragon 835 SoC. The leak also confirms that the smartphone is indeed coming on the 11th of September.
Apart from that, in an unrelated post, tipster Ice Universe revealed some images of the Mi MIX 2’s display. The new display might be a slightly smaller panel if not the same 6.4-inch as its predecessor. It will follow the latest trend of “tall” 18:9 or greater aspect ratio displays which might allow it to feature a screen-to-body-ratio of greater than ~95%.
The Mi MIX 2 is to come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory complementing the chipset. There are rumours that a Prime variant of the handset will feature 8GB of RAM alongside 256GB of internal memory. The smartphone is also likely to feature a dual camera setup at the rear and a new all-metal build. Powering all this hardware is a ~3400mAh or 4400mAh battery unit depending on who you believe. Out of the box, the Mi MIX 2 will be running on MIUI 9 which is based on Android v.7.x, Nougat.
