LineageOS is the custom ROM of choice for many device tinkerers who love to install custom ROMs on their phones as soon as they get the device in their hands. LineageOS is the preferred choice for many because of the near-stock experience on the ROM. There are many customization options in LineageOS but they are not too much and the OS feels extremely lightweight and the even an older device feels new again. The developers at LineageOS are not having a permanent job at LineageOS but they are all having different jobs and are situated at different locations all around the world. The developers keep on giving updates to their devices as soon as possible.

LineageOS has currently about 150+ devices in the list of devices which it currently maintains regularly. There are some new additions to this list every week and the latest of this additions is the Xiaomi Mi5. Althought the Xiaomi Mi5 is an year old device but after installing LineageOS on this device, it will feel like a new device altogether. One thing to note is that the LineageOS codebase has been migrated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat so every new device will have support to the latest version of Android.

Some more additions have also been made to the device list which include support for the Huawei P9 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. As far as the Huawei P9 is concerned, the phone will get upgraded to Android 7.1.1 Nougat as soon as you install LineageOS 14.1 on it. The inclusion of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is particularly interesting and the developement is in its early stages so bugs are expected. Make sure to check out the known problems on XDA before installing any ROM to your device. Stay tuned for more news on LineageOS.
