Lenovo’s dramatic shift from VibeUI to stock Android raised quite a few eyebrows. It was a sudden but a very welcome move from the company which had a pretty bad track record with OS updates. The first crop of stock Android-totting products was the K8 Note, K8 Plus, and the K8. Unsurprisingly, Lenovo promised Android Oreo for all these three handsets soon. Now we have an ETA. But we’d like to you to have some resolve and patience reading below these lines.

Lenovo has disclosed that the K8 should get Oreo in June 2018, while the K8 Plus & K8 Note are poised to receive it in July. By then if you still have these three handsets, you’ll be lucky enough to see Oreo on them. But before that you will be tested with your iron will and penance by Lenovo and only then will you have permission for the Oreo experience.

The K8 family consists of mid-rangers with very affordable prices. The K8 Note is the most premium of the three while the Lenovo K8 sits on the other end. Let’s just hope Lenovo does a quicker job at delivering these updates next time.

Lenovo also now has a good decent list to show its customers which phone is in for an OS upgrade. We leave a link to that here. Although, we doubt that you’ll like it. Be sure to check that out if you own one of other handsets from them.
