Lenovo’s K Note line of smartphones has always been a popular choice in the sub ~Rs 15,000 price range. The presence of features like Dolby Atmos support and a large battery apart from a large display, fingerprint scanner et al have aided its popularity. The company has been teasing us about the uncaging of the “Killer” Note for some time now and today it was validated; The K7 Note surfaced on Geekbench with scores.
The K7 was listed as the K8 Note on the Geekbench website with MediaTek’s MT6797 SoC with a deca-core CPU at its heart. This was coupled with 4GB of RAM running a build of Android v.7.1.1, Nougat. With these specifications, the device puts up a single-core score of 1659 points and a multi-core score of 4844 points.

Now if this is indeed the upcoming K7 Note, we are looking at quite a jump in performance vis-à-vis the older K6 Note which sported Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430. Apart from this jump in performance, we should also see a rise in the device’s efficiency thanks to the Helio X20 being built on the 20nm node compared to the Snapdragon 430 which was based on the 28nm node.
