Leaked sketches of a Nokia smartphone, supposedly from HMD’s drawing board have been leaked online. The leaked image contains the Nokia branding, and more importantly showcases a Carl Zeiss dual camera module. This might well be the Nokia flagship that has been rumoured for some time now. It may be called the Nokia 8, as suggested by various rumours.

Nokia and HMD unveiled the Nokia 3, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and the legacy Nokia 3310. Though these smartphones were highly anticipated phones of 2017, they were mid-rangers and budget offerings and hence many people were disappointed. However, since then, there have been rumours suggesting that a flagship Nokia phone was in the making. The sketch leaked may correspond to the flagship. This means that Nokia may release it on time to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S8. While the sketch does not reveal any major information, it makes it clear that Nokia will demarcate the flagship smartphone from the other mid range Nokia handsets, by employing a different design. However, the sketch confirms that Nokia will use Carl Zeiss optics for image capturing and video. Earlier, there were conflicting rumours on the usage of Carl Zeiss camera’s.

Several rumours have pointed out that Nokia is working on a flagship smartphone to be released very soon. A recent leak suggested that Nokia and HMD are working on a premium smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset. Nokia is said to be working on two models of the flagship, one with a smaller display and 4GB of RAM and the other with a larger display and 6GB of RAM. Notably, the Nokia smartphone will be a premium offering which is said to start at $580 and go on till $650.
