The HTC U11 launched earlier this year and it was a good phone in many ways. It adopted the flashy glass design from the U Ultra in favour of the aluminium body found on the HTC 10. Though the device sported top notch specs and clean software, it lacked the bezel-less screen and a dual camera setup that other flagships included. Well, all this is coming with the HTC U12.

A leaker from Weibo has posted a couple of render pictures in addition to the specifications for the upcoming HTC flagship.

The design largely remains the same and the HTC U12 can be seen sporting the curved 3D glass at the back. The display however gets a major improvement. The leaker has claimed that the U12 will come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display. The images reveal that the display will be very tall due to very minimal bezels. The aspect ratio seems to be 18:9.

Interestingly, no fingerprint scanner can be seen. This may mean that the HTC U12 may ditch the fingerprint scanner for other biometric options like facial recognition.

As for optics, the upcoming HTC flagship is seen sporting a dual camera setup on the rear. The lenses have a vertical orientation unlike other flagships smartphones. The iPhone 8 is set to come with a vertical dual camera arrangement.

The device is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB of DDR4 RAM.

While all this seems great, one must remember that it’s just a leak and we recommend you to take it with a grain of salt.
