This year has shaped up to be a great one for smartphones in particular. 2017 saw the inception of bezel-less smartphones with the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S8. With the iPhone 8 all set to come with a full screen display and the Note 8 looking to continue the trend, the competition is better than ever. Now, we have leaked images comparing these two.
The iPhones have always paled in comparison when compared display wise with the Samsung flagships. OLED displays on the Samsung devices provide deeper blacks and is more power efficient. But this year, the special edition iPhone 8 is expected to pack an OLED panel manufactured by Samsung. So it will be very interesting to see how the Galaxy Note 8 holds up.
A leaked image on Weibo compares the front panels of the Note 8 and the iPhone 8 side by side. The display sizes of the two smartphones is pretty much confirmed now.
The Galaxy Note 8 will house a 6.3-inch display with a screen to body ratio roughly similar to that of the Galaxy S8. A small bezel can be found on the top and bottom of the screen. The top bezel encloses the front camera along with the iris scanner.
However, the iPhone 8 can be seen sporting a 5.8 inch display in a significantly smaller body. The iPhone 8 has a full screen display with almost no bezel except for a small bar on the top. This will include the front camera, speaker, microphone and an iris scanner.
On the rear, both the smartphones are expected to feature a dual camera setup. The Note 8 will launch on August 23 while the iPhone 8 is expected to launch this October.
