Didn’t we just see renders of a new Xiaomi R1 series some days back? Well, here are some freshly leaked live images of the handset. Earlier, the rumours of the new R1 series rose out of nowhere when the Xiaomi R1 renders popped up. It was being said for long that Xiaomi intends to launch a bezel-less mid-ranger and Chinese tipsters think this is it.
The alleged handset, encased in a square cover, manages to hide the dimensions and the bezels quite a bit. That is why we don’t have a clear idea as to how bezel-free this handset is. Also, another image shows the side angle of the phone revealing two speaker grills. The headphone jack is on the top side. There isn’t a shot of the rear though. We can be pretty much sure that a fingerprint reader will be at the back. What we can’t be sure of is the camera setup. It could be a single shooter or a double lens, we don’t know yet.
Apart from this new handset that has sprung up, the Redmi Note 5 is also one mid-ranger that will come with thin bezels. Although the Redmi design is different to the R1, current images suggest.
Besides these renders, we have no specs of this mysterious device for you yet. However, speculation is rife that it will carry an affordable price tag of 1,499 Yuan ($226). Xiaomi is preparing the R1 handset to be pitched against Vivo and Oppo phones. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to launch before the year-end in the Chinese market.
