Reliance Jio is once again making a move to disrupt the telecom market. After a bitter tariff war that has continued for months and drained revenues from major competitors, today Reliance Jio is set to make the JioPhone available for pre-order. So, starting from 24 August 2017, buyers will be able to book their JioPhone starting from 5:00 – 5:30 PM IST. The booking can be done on Reliance Jio Infocom’s retail outlets as well as online for as little as Rs. 500. The phone will be booked on a first-come first-serve basis.
How to book through MyJio app
Buyers will have to install the MyJio app first. Then when the pre-booking starts, the app itself will show the “Pre Book Now” button on the home screen of the app. Then, users will have to enter their delivery PIN code and mobile number. After that, tap on “Proceed” button. Buyers can also book on Jio’s official website.
If that is not easy enough for you, you can head to Jio retailers and multi-brand device retailers including the Reliance Digital stores network to book the 4G VoLTE feature phone offline.
Initially, Rs. 500 has to be paid while pre-booking. It can be paid through JioMoney and Paytm. Moreover, credit cards, debit cards, and net banking can also be used. Use any of these means to pay the initial amount. If the payment is successful, users will see a confirmation SMS on their registered mobile number. The remaining Rs. 1,500 has to be paid on delivery of the phone. As you already might know, this Rs. 1,500 is refundable upon surrendering the handset after 36 months. Plans for the JioPhone start at Rs. 153/month.
