WhatsApp is the world’s most popular instant messaging (IM) application by a margin. And in a bid to keep that crown, its iOS variant has been recently updated adding new features. Although there has been no announcement on point, it is expected that this update may get patched onto the Android fork of the application sometime later.
The major changes to the iOS application post update are five new colour filters for your media. Simply capture/choose a photo, video or GIF and swipe to pick a filter. Another tweak for is aimed squarely at people who are active in a lot of groups, the updated version of the application collects all photos received in a row from the same sender and compiles them into an album.
Finally, there is a new quick reply shortcut that can be accessed by swiping right on any message. All these features and more are included in the latest WhatsApp 2.17.30 update which has already been published on the App Store.
