Four days earlier we saw Samsung seeding a Blueborne fix for the European Galaxy S8 units. Now it’s here for the Indian Galaxy S8. But the fix does not contain the September security patch still. It seems Samsung has been in a hurry to fix the serious issue since it was found to infect millions of Bluetooth devices. And a serious security issue, it definitely is. For, a hacker with the right tools can get control of a device without it even being discoverable with the help of the bug.

The update will weigh 476 MB when it hits Indian Galaxy S8 units with the build number G955FXXU1AQI7. Apparently like other regions, this update also has some stability improvements for the navigation bar and wireless charging. As a reminder, you can also check for the update manually by going to the Settings > Software Updates. The other way is to check via Samsung Smart Switch using a PC. We highly recommend installing the update immediately when it arrives since this is no regular security issue.

You can download this app to see if the vulnerability is fixed after the update. Also, if you do want to wait for the OTA to hit, that is perfectly fine too. But it could take some days. Now that we’ve seen the fix for the Galaxy S8, it shouldn’t be too long before other high-end devices get them too.
