The Mi MIX 2 is the follow-up of the Mi MIX, the torch-bearer of bezel-less phones. We have been covering the movements of the phone on the rumor radar for some time. And we did see an image displaying the back of the phone recently. A more all-revealing video clip from Phillipe Starck himself teased the next-gen all-screen phone in all its glory. If you have been following the Mi MIX design, you might know well enough the phone is designed the French designer. Hence, the excitement around the video clip is obvious.

However, talk around Chinese water coolers is that Xiaomi is set to unwrap it on September 12. That puts Xiaomi on a direct collision course with Apple on its 10th Anniversary. Apple is also supposed to reveal its trend-setting iPhone 8 on the same date. That would amount to Xiaomi shooting itself in its own foot. Also, the Mi MIX 2 has received 3C approval for the Mi MIX 2 in China. That means it is very close to an official curtain raiser. We don’t know about Xiaomi’s ambitions, but we would definitely clear ourself of the iPhone 8 release.

Another piece of leaked image has also surfaced online today. It shows a live image of the all-screen beauty from the front. The design is closely resembling the video clip. Although the lower chin is somewhat bigger than the video clip has us believe. So, there is some doubt regarding the leak.

Constant murmur around the phone expects it to have a Snapdragon 835 chip, 4 GB RAM at least and a Quad HD display panel upwards of 6.0-inches. The phone will have 6 GB and an 8 GB variant as well if rumors are true. There is no official confirmation from Xiaomi itself regarding the reveal date and all this is pure speculation, so we wouldn’t jump horses just yet. We’d advise our readers to do the same.
