Huawei seems to be on a roll, after recently detailing a new budget device on its site, the company officially launched the Honor 8 Pro in Europe today. The device is essentially a rebadged Honor V9 the company had launched in China two months prior. Huawei are taking in pre-orders for the device in the following countries, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. The smartphone is priced at £480 (~₹38,900) in the UK territories and and €549 (~₹38,100) in mainland Europe and should start shipping to customers on 20th April.

As stated the device is pretty much the Honor V9 but Huawei is making it available in Navy Blue, Platinum Gold and Midnight Gold liveries while the former was only available in Red, Blue, Black and Gold. The device houses a HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a hybrid microSD card slot (up-to 256 GB). The display on the device is a 5.7-inch QHD (1440 x2560) resolution LTPS IPS panel.

The main draw of the device is the dual 12-megapixel sensors at the rear, with an f/2.2 aperture, support for PDAF alongside laser focus and a dual-LED flash. The camera is also capable of recording 4K @30fps while it can record full-HD content @60fps. Selfie duties are on an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. Powering all this hardware is a 4000mAh Li-Poly battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge. On the software front the Honor 8 Pro is running EMUI 5.1, a skinned flavour of Android v.7.0, Nougat.

The device for connectivity purposes features a USB Type-C connector, NFC and Bluetooth v4.2. The device is a dual-SIM device featuring a hybrid SIM tray, meaning that a user can either put in two SIM’s or replace one with a microSD card. Even after packing in all this hardware, the massive battery and a fingerprint sensor at the back, the Honor 8 Pro is just 6.97mm thick without any ugly camera hump. Just like the Honor V9, the retail box converts into a Google Cardboard viewer and comes with the Galaxy on Fire 3 and Jaunt VR application pre-installed on the device.
