After the big infusion of cash from Google, a re-energized HTC looks set to bring a much-needed design change in its smartphone lineup. The HTC U11 Plus that has been the subject of quite a few leaks is purported to be a thin bezel phone. Now, HTC has already announced a mystery new device will be coming on November 2. With the HTC U11 Plus just getting approved on TENAA, it looks pretty likely to show up.

If you aren’t aware, TENAA is like FCC for the US. They certify devices to be sold within China and they also publish images. As such, we’ve got some HTC U11 Plus images to talk about. Earlier, the same handset was leaked under the codename HTC Ocean Master. Earlier this month, there was an extensive leak that laid bare all specs of the phone.

According to the latest leak from TENAA, the U11 Plus will be an all-out flagship boasting a 5.5 QHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, a Snapdragon 835 with 4/6 GB RAM is expected to run the show. The battery is shown to be 3,830 mAh on paper. On the software side, the phone will come with Android Oreo. The device is also said to possess water-diving capabilities with an IP 68 certification. The back of the phone will be endowed with a 12 MP lens and a fingerprint sensor.

The images on TENAA weren’t very kind enough to help us distinguish the display from the body. But a closer look makes it clear. The display is a square-edged typical 18:9 aspect ratio panel. Also, it is a lot less appealing than those round-edged screens like the LG G6 for example.

Apart from the HTC U11 Plus, there is one more candidate for the November 2 launch event. That is the HTC U11 Life, an Android One phone. We expect both phones to be launched on the same date.
