We have already reported that HTC has been planning to launch a new smartphone this year after the company launched the HTC U Ultra in January this year. We have known that HTC will not be launching the sucessor to the HTC 10 as the HTC 11 but rather the company will do away from the number system and launch the HTC U. This smartphone is rumored to be the flagship from HTC for 2017. This has been quite an interesting story and there was already a leaked video showing an HTC flagship phone codenamed “HTC Ocean”. This video was leaked by the popular leakster @evleaks. It was evident from the video that the HTC Ocean will carry a touch sensitive construction.

Now we have a leaked image of the HTC U smartphone which the company will be launching later this year. The image has been leaked by the popular leakster @evleaks who has posted the image on his twitter profile.

The phone shown off in the leaks doesn’t inspire much from an company like HTC which has always been known for inventions in design. This phone has a single camera on the back and an LED flash along with the same back design as one found on the HTC U Ultra. This phone looks much like last year’s Pixel by Google. The only difference between the two phones could be the fingerprint scanner which could be found on the HTC U.

As for the known specifications of the smartphone, the HTC U will come with Sense 9 and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It will also have a 12 MP IMX362 Sony sensor for the main camera and a 16 MP IMX351 on the front. It’ll come in 64 GB and 128 GB models with microSD expansion and feature a 5.5-inch QHD display. Stay tuned to know more about this phone as we know more.
