HTC had launched the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the HTC 10 some time back and now it seems that the company is releasing the Nougat update to another one of its flagship phones from the past. This time the update is released for the HTC One A9 in India. The update brings the features from Android 7.0 Nougat like the native multi window support, bundled notifications, quick reply from the notification shade and much more to the HTC One A9.
The update arrives as software version 2.18.707.1 and also installs the latest security patch, safeguarding your device from malware and known threats out there. In addition to increasing the overall system performance, you can also make considerable battery gains with the improved Doze feature.
Also worth noting is that the update is a pretty big update as it comes bundled with the Android 7.0 Nougat version update which was a pretty major version bump in itself so the update weighs in at around 1.05GB.
As for the specifications of the phone , the HTC One A9 was released in September 2015 with Metal unibody with 2.5D front glass, 5″ 1080p capacitive touchscreen with 441pi Corning Gorilla Glass 4, Snapdragon 617 chipset with a 4x 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB/3GB of RAM, Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense 7 UI, 13MP AF camera with optical stabilization with a BSI sensor; dual-tone dual-LED flash; [email protected] video capture, 4MP fixed-focus UltraPixel front-facing camera with a BSI sensor; HDR; 1080p video recording, 16/32GB of built-in memory with a microSD card slot and a 2,150mAh battery to power the device.
Ohter than the One A9, HTC 10 and HTC One M9 are the only device to currently run on Nougat thanks to an OTA update — other devices from HTC like HTC U Play, U Ultra and HTC Bolt were launched with Nougat pre-installed.
