The U11 is the flagship smartphone from HTC for 2017. It is a well rounded smartphone which almost checks all the boxes, unlike the HTC U Ultra. Now, it seems that HTC is working on a mid-range smartphone taking cues from the HTC U11.
This leak comes from HTC leaker LlabTooFeR. According to him, the device is codenamed Ocean Life and features smaller 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution. The phone is expected to be fuelled by a 2600mAh battery and rock 16MP sensors on both the rear and the front. The phone is expected to run Sense 9.0 on top of android 7.1.1 Nougat. The HTC sense UI is a very light weight skin and provides close to stock android experience.
The smartphone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC. The chip is built on the 14nm manufacturing process and features eight Kryo 260 cores clocked upto 2.2GHz.

Talking about the similarities with the U11, the mid-ranger is expected to include the Edge Sense feature that debuted with the U11. This lets you set custom shortcuts that are triggered by pressing down on the sides of the device.
Even though the battery size is 400mAh smaller in size compared to the U11, the reduction in display size from 5.5-inches to 5.2 inches should compensate for that. Another very interesting detail that the leak specifies is that the phone will be bundled with HTC USonic earphones.
