HTC is working up on some innovative features for its 2017 flagship HTC U11. It is teasing around these exciting features on Twitter with the tag – #Brilliant U. The teasers confirm that HTC U11 features 360 real-life recording and HTC Squeeze sense edge technology. It is also teased to come with a new metal design, added with a blend of reflective and fluid glass over it.

What’s new?

HTC’s last year’s flagship HTC 10, failed to impress the smartphone lovers despite getting good reviews. Skipping on the Water resistance, no USP, higher pricing than its rivals, may be some of the reasons for its failure. So this year, HTC is making buzz all around the internet with its unique features to stand out from rivals.

Mark the date 16-05-17, Tuesday to live its launch and to get deeper into the details. As per previous leaks, we speculate that from teaser video tweeted, HTC is hinting us at 360 audio recording. While other reports also suggest being a 360-degree-video recording feature. Well, we doubt if the 360-degree camera tech is ready to implement on smartphones right now. If HTC does it some way with the help of wide angle front and rear cameras, it will become first of its kind.

HTC squeeze sense is another standout feature to talk. The U11 is expected to come with a metal frame that can detect the squeezing by the users. Further, HTC Edge sense app helps the users to control and change these actions. It is an answer to the edge technology of Samsung Flagships, implemented in an innovative way without a curved display. Interested in seeing how come this new feature works? Feed on the video below.

Launch Date

Already, HTC confirms to unveil its device on May 16. Now, a new report claims HTC won’t keep fans waiting to get their hands on one either, with a potential local release date as early as May 19.

Expected specs:

Apart from these, Following the retail box leaks and image leaks HTC U11 flagship is expected to feature the latest Snapdragon 835, 4GB/6GB ram, 64/128GB storage with an expandable slot, IP57 water, and dust resistance, 5.5”QHD display, and battery of around 3000 mAh with fast charging. From recent GeekBench leaks, it is expected to come with a 12mp ultra pixel rear camera, 16mp selfie camera, Bluetooth 5.0, HTC boom sound and a 3.0 USB-C Type connectivity port. It will boot Android nougat 7.1.1 out of the box with its Sense UI.

At $659, we doubt the HTC U 11 will surely explode in sales on the current smartphone scene. It has surely been a hard time for the Taiwanese company surviving in the competition. As per the teasers, the HTC U 11 looks like it could turn HTC’s fortune.
