How to Root YU Yunique
How to Root YU Yunique

Micromax’s sub-brand YU, launched its 3rd 4G budget smartphone YU Yunique for Rs. 4,999. After using it for around 3 days, I can easily say its the best one can get under this price range. Most of the users root their smartphone to install custom ROMs, mostly Cyanogenmod. But, YU phones come with Cyanogenmod pre-installed so installing custom ROMs won’t be the major reason for rooting your YU Yunique. But, except custom ROMs, there are lot more things to do after rooting your YU Yunique like Installing Xposed (Top 10 Xposed modules) or installing Apps which require root access.

After unlocking your device, you can download Kingo Root App & Install it as normal APK, Now click on Root button, it will root your device. After that, download Flashify App from Playstore & Download the above .img file & flash the .img through flashify app(Grant root access to the App).

      • Arun Raj

What will happen if we dont unlock bootloader and root yunique with King root and install cyanogenmod…
will there be any problem???Plzz tell..

        • Devs-Lab Staff

You can’t root without unlocking bootloader. Unlocking your bootloader allows you to manipulate system files i.e rooting and installing custom roms.

    Hi,
As you said i am facing with issues with adb drivers. I am advanced uset. Always do flashing roms for my nexus and oneplus one. This one is my secondary phone which is bugging me a lot to connect through usb debugging on.
Please let us know how you managed to connect it to pc.
This will help me alot. Thanks in advance

    • Devs-Lab

      Hey,
      1. Enable USB Debugging in your YU Yunique & Download ADB Installer.
      2. Run the Installer while your device is connected. The installer should show your device with a Status message showing, whether driver is “Installed” or “Not Installed”.
      3. If not, then install the drivers.
      4. Now check if the tool shows your device.
      5. If this doesn’t help you, Download this Minimal ADB Package [Size: 14MB].
      6. Run the command.bat file & type “adb devices”. Check if it returns anything similar to this “device e$#413”. This shows if everything is properly installed.
      Hope this helps you, Cheers!
