Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has sent out invites to media in India for an event on January 28th. The company is expected to launch of the Honor 5X at the event, which is the successor to the Honor 4X . The Honor 5X was launched in China in October last year as the Honor Play 5X in two variants – one with 2GB of RAM and another offering 3GB.
To recap, the Honor 5X sports a metal unibody design, a fingerprint sensor, and Box speakers with a Smart PA audio chipset. Its other highlights include a 5.5-inch 1080p display, an octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC, 16GB of expandable storage, 13MP/5MP cameras, and a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It was released in China at the starting price of around Rs 10,300, and we expect it to be priced similarly when it launches in India.
This sub-US$200 smartphone is already hitting all the right notes and looks set to become one of the best budget Android phones around. And that’s not all – this budget wonder is comparable to the iPhone 6s, and in our eyes, could be the better choice of the two.
