Gionee has already announced its Gionee A1 smartphone at the MWC in Barcelona last month. Gionee, the smartphone manufacturer that has already been doing pretty well in the Indian smartphone industry has now released a teaser video on Twitter revealing the launch date of the company’s next smartphone to be launched in India, the Gionee A1.
The teaser video that has been released on twitter by Gionee is a 16-second long clip which starts with the words “Amigo” which on translation from Spanish to English means “a friend” and also worth noting is that Amigo is the name of the custom skin which Gionee delivers on their phones on top of Android. Further down the clip, we see the Android Nougat logo which means that the phone will come with Android Nougat but it isn’t clear whether the phone will come with Android 7.0 or 7.1.1 but its most likely to be the former.Last part of the clip reveals the date on which the phone is going to launch which is 21.3.2017 with an hashtag of #BeA1.

As far as the specifications of the Gionee A1 are concerned, the smartphone comes with 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, a quad-core MediaTek 6755 Helio P10 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable (up to 128GB) storage space. In the camera department, the phone comes with a 13MP camera (f/2.0) on the back. The standout feature, however, is the 16MP camera (f/2.0) on the front. There’s also a gigantic 4,010mAh battery under the hood to provide the juice for the device. For the connectivity, the phone features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot with Bluetooth v4.0, A2DP, FM radio and microUSB v2.0 with USB Host feature. The phone also has a rear-mounted Fingerprint scanner for added security.
The phone comes with Black, Gray and Gold color variants. The pricing details of the phone have not been revealed by the company yet but we will know the Indian pricing on March 21. Stay tuned as we cover more on this.
