Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in the US are facing a rather odd issue of missing words in their text messages. Apparently, many users have complained that at least some words of original messages never show up when received. The issue is particularly nagging US phones as other countries have not reported such a bug. Also, the problem persists in the Qualcomm variants of both the Galaxy S8 and S8+.
The problem seems to be oddly related to Wi-Fi calling. However, turning off the function from the Settings eliminates the issue said one person who has encountered the bug. However, this doesn’t work all the time. Also, rebooting or using another messaging app also doesn’t remedy the issue. Some have blamed carriers for this new surprising bug. However, it seems to be present on all major carriers, so this does seem unlikely. The bug only reared its head sometime last month when many users started complaining about it online.
For some, the issue is a minor glitch as it doesn’t happen more than 1 or 2 times in the past. While others have been reporting as much as half of all messages come with missing texts. Neither Samsung nor any US carrier has said anything on the issue. But if this continues an official word is expected soon. If you are one of those users, try disabling WiFi calling and Advanced Messaging and let us know if this fixes the problem for you.
