Galaxy S8 Plus

Everything was going well with Samsung Galaxy S8 beta program until the last update. The last update that arrived just a day or two back had a lot of bug fixes. But now it seems it also had a big glitch. Apparently, it jammed the network signal of many a users in the US.
People have angrily taken to Reddit to voice their concern and asked for a quick fix.

Notably, the issue is specific to Sprint and T-Mobile as well as unlocked models of the Galaxy S8. According to talk on social media, the update also causes the phone app to crash a lot. Other users say that clearing data works temporarily, but a restart makes the issue return. People have also tried factory resetting their devices to no avail.

As far as we know, the problem is limited to US units of Galaxy S8. Samsung has stopped seeding the update in light of the current situation, but they haven’t clarified when a fix will arrive. We’ve warned readers earlier that beta updates tend to come with bugs and sometimes big ones. So, they aren’t for the faint-hearted and especially not fit as daily drivers.

Meanwhile Essential, Nokia, and OnePlus are also in advanced beta testing stages of Android Oreo. We expect a good number of flagship devices to get a stable update by December.
