Samsung took its time to roll out the November security patch for its big bad phablet, the Galaxy Note 8. But hey, better late than never. The patch started appearing on international models last week. Now, Indian users will see the patch come to their Note 8s.

For US and Taiwan, Samsung decided to give them some new features as well. More specifically speaking, the new Live Focus controls. Live Focus (Portrait mode) when ready to work shows a caption in the camera UI. With the new update, it appears on a yellow box to make it more noticeable. If you require better positioning, the UI will let you know that as well. However, this new tweak sadly isn’t being pushed to Indian and Bangladesh users. Since the OTA is the same as the other variants have, it is a bit of a surprise.

Still, all is not lost as Samsung might eventually push the tweaks in a future firmware. Or maybe, they might be pushed in a separate mini update. We don’t know about the timings, but let’s just say it will arrive. Apart from that, the patch comes with standard bug fixes and stability tweaks for the pricey phablet.

If you don’t know how to check for the latest OTA, just head on to Settings > Software Updates > Download Updates Manually. If nothing shows up, wait for some time. You’ll get it soon.
