The most famous augmented reality Smartphone game, Pokemon GO has released it’s all new Valentine’s day update. This new update is all about getting extra candy, and more frequent Pokemon catches. This new Pokemon GO Valentine’s day event starts from 11 a.m. PST February 8th thru 11 a.m. PST February 15th. With this new update, Niantic is the trying to attract the old trainers & gain more user base.
Double the candies
As we all know, in order to evolve the Pokemon we need to collect candies. Well here’s the feature of this Valentine’s day event: Each time you catch, hatch, or evolve a Pokemon you’ll receive twice the normal amount of candy. That isn’t all either. Your buddy Pokemon will also find candy to help them evolve twice as fast!
Lures are also receiving a special perk. Instead of their usual 30-minute duration, each lure that you — or anyone else — set up will last for a full 6 hours. Yes, you read that right: 6 full hours for each lure. That’s a lot of time to catch yourself some new Pokemon, and of course, you’ll also get extra candy from those catches.
At times it can be quite frustrating to try and find new Pokemon or to catch a specific Pokemon. If you’ve been hoping to come across some adorable pink Pokemon, but you’ve been having issues, then you are most definitely in luck.

Make sure you do all your transferring of unwanted Pokémon within the timeframe of the event. It’s an obvious one, but check the update is live before you trade any in, and don’t forget to do so before the event ends on the 15th! Now’s your best chance to grab those rare Pokémon, both from eggs and in the wild. Chansey and Porygon are particularly rare, but if some of the others on the above list haven’t been appearing in your area, this may be a great time to see if you can pick them up.
