OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T which was released last year by the Chinese Smartphone maker, OnePlus is truly the Flagship smartphone what a consumer needs. The company got some light after the release of it’s first device, the OnePlus One; which became an overnight hit for the company with its excellent specs and a killer price. Premium hardware at an affordable price, makes OnePlus device different. OnePlus has surely lived up to it’s commitments of providing frequent updates to its latest device.

OnePlus is also known for releasing smartphones which are for Developers and Android Enthusiasts who like to tinker with their phones in every aspect possible. Last year, OnePlus announced that they are going to start giving Open Beta builds for the OnePlus 3/3T to be tested before its official rollout.

OnePlus promised Nougat update to its fans before the end of 2016 and delivered it by releasing the Open Beta build for both the devices on the last day of 2016. Today, a new Open Beta build has been released by OnePlus which has Android Nougat 7.1.1.

Today OnePlus, thanked all the people who have joined their Open Beta program and made it a huge success through its discussion & development forum.

“Today, we have a particularly exciting announcement: Open Beta 3– built on Android Nougat 7.1.1 – is available now for the OnePlus 3/3T” the forum read.

The official changelog posted on its forum is as follows:

  • Upgraded to Android 7.1.1
  • New Shot on OnePlus wallpaper option
  • Gallery Improvements
    • New photo editor with watermark and photo straightening options
    • Newly added media will be highlighted in Photos section
    • Image location will be displayed on grid view
    • Media can be grouped by month and year
    • Folders and individual media can be hidden
  • General bug fixes

Known Issues and Fixes

  • Android pay not able to work on London TFL/Tube
    • This can be resolved by updating the app via Play store
  • Compatability issues with certain third party apps

Your data may transfer, but there is always a possibility of losing personal data, so be sure to backup all of your important data before flashing this build. As stated on OnePlus forum, once you flash the Open Beta, you’ll continue getting Open Beta OTAs.
