Motorola, A Lenovo company
Motorola is a Lenovo subsidiary known for using stock Android UI

Last week we reported that Motorola had sent out a media invite for an event planned on 25 July in New York City. Now proper invitations are being been sent out bearing the tagline “get ready to shatter your expectations”.

Motorola 25 July invite

The invite also shows two handsets with what looks like shattered displays. Anyone who has been following the smartphone industry for the past few years will recall that Motorola had launched the ShatterShield display on the MOTO X Force two years back and this is directly a reference to the same. This is the best indicator that the company plans to introduce the MOTO Z2 Force because its predecessor, the Z Force was the last Motorola handset bearing the ShatterShield technology based display.

Motorola has greatly improved its ShatterShield screen technology over these years. These include improving the feel by removing the plastic layer on the screen. The 2017 variant seems to be an even more improved iteration of this technology minus the glare or separation between the glass covering and the screen.

Apart from this, there are rumours that the company might introduce the mid-range MOTO X4 at the event although there is no concrete proof of the same. We shall be finding out more about the event as we come closer to it and the final devices will only be known post the event.
