SuperSU has always been the rooting app of choice among every other alternative for every device enthusiasts for its customization options as well as its ease of usage. SuperSU has always been updated to adapt to every new Android release and same is the case this time around as well. SuperSU v2.8.2 SR1 has been released in BETA form. This announcement was made by Chainfire, the developer responsible for maintaining SuperSU, on his Google+ account. Also worth noting is that the developer has mentioned that this update focuses primarily on changes introduced by the latest security patches to Nougat and O Preview.

Nowadays, system-less rooting methods like Magisk and others have taken stage instead of the system-enabled rooting methods like SuperSU. However, the apps like Magisk and the likes still have some bugs as well as its drawbacks and people don’t have sufficient trust to try out those apps. This is the reason SuperSU has been popular even after so many years and the developer behind it has given an update. This new version of SuperSU deals with the many policy changes within Android and various other internal discrepancies like Samsung’s forced encryption.

One thing to note here is that SuperSU v2.8.2 SR1 has been released in BETA form and the developer behind it, Chainfire has advised the users on a stable version to try out the BETA release on their own risk. The developer is not responsible for any problems that may occur on the device after the update. The stable release of SuperSU v2.8.2 is expected to be released soon.
