BlackBerry Motion

A few images of the BlackBerry Motion surfaced a few days back and now TCL has officially launched the smartphone in an e-commerce show at the GITEX Technology Week in Dubai.

The BlackBerry Motion looks very similar to the BlackBerry KEYone. Interestingly, BlackBerry has done away with the QWERTY keyboard that the company is known for. Thus, the screen size has increased and now the front includes two capacitive keys and a home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner. It is also worthy to note that the Blackberry logo is engraved into the home button.

The BlackBerry Motion sports a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution (1920×1080 pixels). Unlike many smartphones launched in 2017, the device sports a standard 16:9 display with noticeable bezels on the top and bottom. It is powered by the mid-range Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage.

As for optics, the smartphone features a 12MP camera on the back with an aperture of f/2.0 backed up by an 8MP selfie shooter. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is fuelled by a massive 4,000 mAh battery. The BlackBerry Motion is also IP67 water and dust resistant.

The BlackBerry Motion has been launched in a few Middle East countries at a price of $460( approx Rs.30,000). Currently there is no information on when the handset will launch in other markets.
