The Taiwanese company, ASUS, unveiled their newest smartphone in India last Wednesday. The Zenfone Live is said to be the world’s first smartphone to feature a live beautification technology. ASUS has launched the Zenfone Live in India last Wednesday at the price of Rs. 9,999. To recall, Zenfone Live was first unveiled on the company’s website on 24th of February this year, just ahead of MWC 2017 in Barcelona.
The device is packed with a pretty descent specs. It has a typical 5-inch 720p HD display, powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and Adreno 306 graphic processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and a 16GB of ROM and 2650mAh of battery. The device will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with ZenUI 3.0 skin on top. But the main selling point of the device is it’s “Live Beautification” technology which is said to enable it’s users to “share more glamorous versions of themselves — live.” hence the word “Live” on the device’s name.
So basically, what ASUS means is that when you do a live video regardless its on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube, you have the option to add real-time beautification filter on top of your face for you to look great on your viewers. I actually don’t understand why would someone do that but yeah, its the main feature of Zenfone Live.

The BeautyLive app combines a software algorithms and hardware acceleration to provide its users a confident live broadcast with Facebook, Instagram and YouTube integration. The app will work with any application and will be available not just in its front facing camera but also on the rear facing camera. It’s 5MP 1.4μm FFC claims to improve sensitivity to light by 200 percent versus a standard lower pixel sensors. ASUS also employed a LED flash on front for a soft flash and an 82° wide angle lens for wider selfies. The rear of the device will have a 13MP f/2.0 five-prism camera lens with ASUS PixelMaster technology which claims to enhance light sensitivity of the sensor for up to 400 percent.
Other features includes a dual MEM microphone which is able to capture rich sound even on the more noisy environment, a DTS Headphone: X support which will provide a virtual 7.1 channel sorround sound audio using a headphone and 5-magnet loudspeaker for a loud and clear audio.
Zenfone Live will be available in three different colors: Navy Black, Rose Pink and Shimmer Gold. The device is currently on sale India today for Rs. 9,999.
