ASUS is fond of launching flagships with big families. Not only that. Each year, the Taiwanese giant seemingly likes to increase confusion by just adding numbers to the flagship line. The titles are even easier to forget. But well, at least the OEM has delivered the product even though it’s late.
To keep things simple, There is a standard ZenFone 4 series which has two models. This is the actual flagship series. And a Selfie series, which also has two models. A regular one and a Pro version. There was a Max series as well but that has been unveiled earlier.
ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Pro
The ZenFone 4 Pro is the best ASUS has to offer this year. It offers best processing power, a superior design, and an unparalleled camera experience. The device has a Snapdragon 835, 6 GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch Full HD display. It has a premium Aluminium body with metal edges and 2.5D Glass. The ZenFone 4 Pro’s real playground is the camera department. This time, ASUS endows the phone with an “industry-leading” main Sony IMX362 sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a secondary 16MP lens supporting 2X optical zoom and 10X total zoom. The selfies snapper is equipped with PDAF supported by a f/1.9 aperture. The flagship has a 3,600 mAh battery and stereo speakers.
To put things into perspective, the ASUS ZenFone 4 is a more humble version of the ZenFone 4 Pro. Apparently, users will be able to choose between a 4 GB and a 6 GB variant as well as between the Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660. Also, the cameras here are lower specced than the “Pro” sibling. The battery of the phone is a 3,300 mAh juicer.
ZenFone 4 Selfie, ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro
This particular series mostly caters to the shutterbugs. Specifically the selfie snappers. The Pro version comes with a 12MP front camera with soft LED Flash, Sony IMX362 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 4K video recording, and a 120-degree secondary wide-angle lens. While the standard variant comes with a 20MP front camera with soft LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture and a secondary 8MP camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens.
ZenFone 4 Max ZenFone 4 Max Pro
These two phones are battery beasts fitting in 5000 mAh Li-ion cells in their bodies. They are built to last you more than a day. These two devices were introduced last month, so the specs of the devices are already out there. If you do want to check out other specs, you can head on to the source link below.
None of the flagships price or availability was officially declared during the event. But that should soon come to pass as we move further to the end of the month.
