Huawei’s P10 and P10 Plus are flagship handsets from Huawei and with Mate 9 Oreo on the cards its now turn for the duo. Huawei has launched an Oreo beta program for both the handsets. Along with Android Oreo, these devices will be privileged to receive EMUI 8.0. Huawei’s new proprietary skin was officially seen first with the Mate 10, launched last month.

The Oreo update is in a closed beta state and it will be developed for both the Huawei P10, and P10 Plus. Those who wish to register for it will have a limited time frame from November 14 to 16. The sign up will require the serial number and an account number on the phone.

If we remember well, the Mate 9 is destined to receive Oreo earlier than the P10 twins. As development with the Mate 9 began a lot earlier. With the Mate 9, and P10 duo entering beta, other premium devices should also soon see some good work on Oreo front. All this talk relates to beta updates. A stable Oreo update still seems at least one month far.
Huawei made a big meal out of EMUI 8.0 and advertised AI features of the skin on the eve of its introduction. Other handsets might not get such features due to the lack of the NPU used in the Mate 10.

Hence, some features like the AI will remain exclusive to the Mate 10 while other EMUI 8.0 features will make it to older flagships as well. The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus launched at MWC earlier this year and are expected to receive one more OS update after Oreo.
