Moto X Pure

Earlier today, we reported that Moto had started pushing out the Android Nougat update to the Moto X Play. Now, the Moto X Pure has started receiving the update after a long testing period. To recollect, Motorola started a soak test based on the the Nougat beta build with few users back in March.

The update arrives with version number 25.11.22.en.US and brings with it a lot of features and enhancements. The software provides split-screen multi-tasking, battery optimisations, better notification controls and improved settings. The update also adds Google Duo, Google’s video calling app to the phone.

Since the update will roll out in parts, the update may not reach your device instantly and may take upto a week. You can check manually by going into Settings –> About –> Software update. As always, since it is a major update, we recommend you to download it through Wi-Fi as the update could weigh upwards of 1GB. Also, make sure you have enough charge on your smartphone before updating.

While it is great news that the Moto X Pure is finally receiving Nougat, it is disappointing to learn that this will be the last major update for the handset. The Moto X Pure was not found in the list of smartphones that Moto confirmed were getting Android Oreo. This is expected as the device is 2 years old.
