A new Sony smartphone with model number H8216 has just been spotted by tispters in the wild. Well, not the pics, but the specs of the upcoming handset have now been revealed. According to info, this new model might be a successor of the Xperia XZ1. We don’t know what exactly will be the product name, but it could be Xperia XZ2 going by Sony’s way of naming products. Leaked specs show a powerful flagship, however, other things might dampen your interest.
The leaked doc shows dimensions of the phone to be 148 x 73.4 x 7.4mm and weight to be 156 gms. There’s no surprise it carries the Snapdragon 845 chipset, as all Sony flagships will. The handset is shown to harbour a 5.48-inch display panel with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. This is where it gets boring. Sony is probably sticking with the same conventional bezel design that were in its early flagships instead of the thin-bezels. Also, knowing Sony’s stubbornness they won’t change aesthetics either. They’ve kept it for 5 to 6 generations. The leaked doc also shows IP68 certification for the flagships which is also not surprising as we’ve seen past Sony flagship models with it as well.
There are a lot of gaps to be filled in the specs sheet with this device but the selfie camera has been exposed to be 15 MP. Also, the said device will unsurprisingly run Oreo and hold a 3,130 mAh battery in its metal chassis. For more details, you can check the images above.
Recently, some Sony models like H8266, H8276 and H8296, had also leaked indicating that Sony is working on them.
