Since the launch of Jio, that has shaken the telecom industry to the roots, subscribers have been having a great time. After Reliance launched the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, rival telcos have launched their own counter offers as part of the Jio effect. The tariff war has not shown any sign of a slowdown amidst this cut-throat race and here is one more from Airtel.
The Sunil Mittal-backed company has come up with a Rs. 349 plan as well as a Rs. 5 prepaid offer. Both the data packs come with attractive data as well as free calling incentives. Here are the details below.
Airtel Rs 349 Prepaid Pack
The Rs 349 pack comes with 28 GB data valid for 28 days. That makes it 1 GB/day. Also, there are unlimited local and STD calls. While they say it is unlimited it is actually restricted to 1000 minutes per week. Beyond that users will be charged 10 paisa/min for Airtel to Airtel and 30 paisa for other networks. Moreover, there is a 250 min/day limit for free calls too. After that, the same charges apply as mentioned above. So, the pack does have caveats that give it a grade below the truly unlimited Rs. 399 Jio plan. Airtel’s latest plan goes head to head with the Reliance Jio Rs. 349 prepaid pack. It comes with 20 GB of 4G data for 56 days added to unlimited calls and SMSes too.
Besides this, both telcos have a Rs. 399 pack that offer strikingly similar options apart from minor differences. Vodafone also has a Rs. 392 pack with 1GB data per day for 28 days and unlimited calls.
Airtel Rs. 5 Data Pack
The Rs. 5 recharge pack is a one time offer for consumers who make the jump to Airtel 4G. These new subscribers will be offered 4 GB data on a Rs. 5 recharge valid for 7 days. There are no other voice calling incentives in this data-only pack.
Airtel Cashback offer
Under the Airtel CAsh /back offer, Airtel will credit customers 5% cashback (max Rs.25) if they pay via Airtel Payments Bank. Another incentive if consumers sign up for Airtel Payments Bank and buy the new Rs. 349 pack, they will be getting 10% cash back.
