Jio just launched the Dhan Dhana Dhan offer a few days back and Airtel hasn’t given up yet. According to a tweet by telecom blogger Sanjay Bafna, the company will soon a launch a new prepaid plan which would offer 1GB 4G data per day along with unlimited calls for 70 days.

Understandably, these plans are only available for users with a Airtel 4G SIM on a 4G supported device. Also, there are speculations that Airtel is also set to launch an offer that provides 2GB data per day. While none of this is official, Sanjay Bafna has a good track record as far as telecom related leaks are concerned.

There has been war between the two telecom companies since the inception of Jio. Airtel has severely criticised Jio’s Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer, which was recently launched after TRAI asked Jio to withdraw the Summer Surprise Offer and called it “old wine in a new bottle.”

“We are surprised to see what Jio is doing. It violates the spirit of the TRAI directive and essentially continues with a similar plan now masquerading under a different name. This is a classic example of old wine in a new bottle,” an Airtel spokesperson told PTI. “With a weakened financial position, companies will find it difficult to raise the capital to invest and roll out broadband networks,” said Airtel spokesperson.

However in the end, the cost of 4G LTE is becoming more affordable and the customers are hugely benefits by the healthy competition going on.
